Today I drove through four states to be able to fly out of Columbia, SC tomorrow.
It was hard to leave. Andy had my car washed and gassed by the time I was ready to go. He loaded all of my cumbersome bags and sent me off like royalty.
Even made sure I had snacks for the road.
I wish he were with me.
On the ride, I had great company by the name of Norm in the front seat.
His grandparents are sweet enough to be keeping him while I'm away. Between the walks and treats, it's likely he won't even know I'm gone.
AND I was able to talk to some pretty special people on the phone
which made the interstate hike even better.
As I pulled into South Carolina the sun was setting - a beautiful gold and magenta masterpiece -
not a bad note to leave on.
When I got to my parents I was welcomed by not only two of the best people on earth, but also a meal to die for - Mama's carrots, Parmesan chicken, brown rice (the good stuff), buttery bread, and candied apples. If I don't die from this glorious meal, I'll be flying to Israel in the morning.
I've been asked by all parties if I have my passport. :)
You guys have done a great job setting me up for success!
It's nice to be taken care of.
PS Thanks for looking after Norm, MeMe and Pops
