Planning

Is it possible to plan perfectly?  I have a lot of distractions.  For one, it's snowing.  Also, my team is playing in a bowl game from which I cannot separate myself.  Our Christmas decorations are overdue for being packed.  I'll stop before I get too boring.
The biggest distraction is that I can't quit thinking about the fact that I am going to ISRAEL in less than a week!  Yes, re-read that last sentence!
This was a huge decision.  I've had this invitation for 2012 for over 3 years.  It was just too easy to think it wouldn't work out between the dilemmas of work, family, finances, etc.
It was hard to believe the waters were actually parting to make way for an opportunity like this, but miraculously, they did.
There's still a lot of reasons to not go.  To wipe those off my conscience, God had me in a space with someone who had just the clout I respect to say the words I needed to hear, "if you get a chance to travel to Israel, you would be a fool not to!"
 And TA DA:  liberation.
Thanks to that last inspiration, in a few days I'll be in Tel Aviv.
Of course no trip is perfect.  I'm sure I'll get there and realize I didn't pack my toothbrush.  But, I hope my worries will remain along those lines.  I'll miss some folks I wish I could have with me  - my favorite buddy for sure.  I wish he could be on this trip with me.  We have a funny habit of traveling to the Middle East without each other.....  :)
I do however have some pretty fantastic company for travel, so don't feel too sorry for me.
If you're following me on my blog please pray for me.  I am not concerned about safety, although I would appreciate those prayers as well.  I pray for a great trip with repercussions for a positive future for all I know and love.  Between the two, that's pretty much everyone.
If you know about this blog, I hope you'll follow me on my trip.
My apologies before I start because I am a novice blogger, writer, and photographer. I'll do my best to update when I can and give you something to add to your day.
I leave Jan 8th and return the 24th.
Love to you all!
